In Poltava region, after a large-scale reconstruction is being prepared for opening a sports complex

In Reshetylivka, Poltava region, they plan to open the renovated sports complex 'Kolos' soon. Two years ago, its reconstruction began under the Ukraine recovery program, which is now almost completed. This information comes from the Poltava Regional Military Administration.

The chief of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Lunin, the head of the Poltava Regional Council, Oleksandr Bilenky, and the People's Deputy Oleh Kulynych visited the sports complex and inspected the renovated premises.

Various works have been done there, from insulating the facade to replacing windows. The repair in the sections with rooms for athletes is in its final stages. Last year, 6.2 million UAH from the National Program for the Development of Territories of Equal Opportunities and 1.5 million UAH from the regional budget were allocated for this purpose. Additionally, using the previously allocated 16.9 million UAH of regional funding, a new sports hall is being created that will meet all accessibility requirements," noted Dmytro Lunin.

It is reported that in 2023, 25 million UAH from the regional budget were allocated for the reconstruction of the complex. They also expect additional financing of 80 million UAH, which the European Investment Bank is expected to provide for the construction of a stadium on the complex's territory.

It's worth noting that the boxer from the Poltava region, Oleksandr Hizhniak, brought 'gold' from an international tournament held in the Czech Republic. Representatives from 18 countries competed for victory at the tournament in the Czech Republic. Oleksandr Hizhniak defeated his opponents from Germany and Norway. In the final, he was supposed to box against a Welsh athlete, but the latter withdrew from the match. Therefore, the Ukrainian fighter won prematurely.

It is reported that these competitions were the last ones for Hizhniak before the European Games, which will take place in Krakow, Poland, from June 21 to July 2.
