The police of Poltava region are looking for a dangerous criminal who escaped from a mental hospital

The police are currently determining the whereabouts of Diyarbek Daniyarovich Mayrbekov, a 27-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, who was previously convicted of a particularly serious crime. He escaped from a compulsory medical institution in Poltava on August 27, around 7:45 AM. A description of the fugitive is provided: he appears to be 30 years old, has a height of 176 cm, a sporty build, and an Eastern (Uzbek) appearance with short black hair and dark eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black sweater, black pants, and black sneakers.

According to pre-trial investigation materials, on March 17, 2020, Diyarbek Mayrbekov attacked a cashier in the "Exchange Point" premises at 34 Yevropeyska Street. Armed with a pre-prepared wooden bat, the assailant struck the woman about thirty times in the head and upper extremities. When the victim fell to the floor, the attacker demanded money, but the woman, getting back on her feet, managed to press the alarm button.

The foreign national was taken into custody, and after undergoing psychiatric examination in December 2021, which confirmed a mental disorder, Diyarbek Mayrbekov was transferred, under the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court, to a psychiatric institution with enhanced supervision at 1 Medychna Street in Poltava.
