The head of the Odesa Regional State (Military) Administration, Oleg Kiper, informed about the situation regarding the evacuation of people from the Kherson region due to the situation at the Kakhovska Hydroelectric Power Station (GES).
According to the Odesa RSA website, due to the explosion at the Kakhovska GES and the evacuation of the civilian population from flood-affected areas, Odesa region can quickly accommodate 3,291 people in compact settlement areas.
The issue of housing individuals in educational institutions and private sectors is currently being addressed in an operational mode. The official emphasized that they are working closely with their colleagues from the Kherson Regional Military Administration, NGOs, and international foundations to handle the evacuation, shelter, and provide initial assistance.
A hotline is available for people who are being relocated, including inquiries about accommodation at +38 (067) 304-91-95. Notably, this night, at 02:50, Russian terrorists carried out an internal explosion of the structures at the Kakhovska GES.
Approximately 80 populated areas are located in the flood area. It has been instructed to evacuate the risk areas and provide drinking water to all cities and villages that were supplied with water from the Kakhovka Reservoir.
In an RNBO meeting, a complex of international and security measures has been approved to hold Russia accountable for this act, calling for a strict response.
