The Security Service of Ukraine's counterintelligence has uncovered another FSB agent during counter-sabotage operations in Dnipropetrovsk. The perpetrator was gathering intelligence for Russian occupiers, including information about the types and quantities of Ukrainian Armed Forces combat aircraft, their locations, and flight directions.

Furthermore, he transmitted the locations of military recruitment offices to the aggressors and attempted to identify the railway lines used for supplying ammunition to the front, as reported by the agency's press service.

For each completed task, the Russian agent received up to 4,000 Ukrainian hryvnias from his FSB handler. To maintain secrecy, the money was transferred to the traitor through a cryptocurrency electronic wallet.

The intelligence information was needed by the aggressor to prepare a series of aerial strikes on the region's territory, primarily targeting strategically important objects.

The Security Service's counterintelligence officers exposed and apprehended the perpetrator.

According to the investigation, the person in question is a local resident who was recruited by an FSB personnel member in July 2022.

He came to the attention of the Russian special services through one of the Russian Telegram bots, where he periodically posted photos of Ukrainian military positions. He maintained contact with the aggressor through a messenger. To carry out reconnaissance tasks, he traveled to the area where he covertly observed the objects and interrogated people to obtain the required information.

During the search at the perpetrator's place of residence, a mobile phone and tablet were discovered, which he used for communication with the FSB.

The Security Service investigators informed the detainee about the suspicion under Article 111, Part 2 (state treason committed during a state of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He is currently in custody.

The perpetrator could face a life sentence.

The comprehensive operations were conducted by the Security Service in the Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
