The Poltava laboratory of the regional hydrometeorology center in Poltava conducts air quality monitoring in Poltava with the help of stationary monitoring stations. This includes four non-automated stations, with two located in the Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts of the city, respectively. However, there are currently no such stations in the Podilskyi district of the regional center.

A relevant project has been submitted to the competition for environmental initiatives in Poltava region. The voting will commence on June 8th on the "Smart Region" portal.

For the installation of a certified automated station in this district, you can vote from June 8th to June 20th on the portal "Environmental Initiatives of Poltava Region" (Budgetary support for local environmental initiatives of communities in Poltava region to improve the environmental condition of the region, raise environmental awareness, and citizens' environmental culture), project number 30, at the following link.

As part of the state monitoring program for the protection of atmospheric air in the Poltava agglomeration of the Poltava territorial community for 2022-2026, the installation of an automated indicative station is planned at the intersection of Vavilov Avenue and Bohdan Khmelnytsky Boulevard. This indicative station is primarily transport-oriented (mostly intended for measuring the amount of pollutants emitted into the atmosphere by motor vehicles) and will perform the following functions: automatic measurement of concentrations of analyzed components (carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10); as well as the collection, processing, storage, and transmission of measurement results; presentation of results in various available formats with subsequent publication on the Internet.
