In Smila, after the missile strike carried out by Russia on August 15, 2023, a new water pipeline has been installed. Currently, they are testing how it functions.

According to Igor Taburets, the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, during this time, they have delivered over 120 tons of water to the residents, including to medical facilities that were left without water supply.

"On the fifth day in a row, the city has been testing a new water pipeline with a total length of 1,200 meters. Due to the explosion, there were displacements. When we connected everything, we noticed that there wasn't the desired pressure to provide water to all buildings. As of August 26, with the appearance of pressure in the pipes, we hope to start providing water on a continuous basis, as it was before the shelling," he explained.

In addition, Igor Taburets mentioned that the repair of other damages is ongoing, including at the local medical facility, which they plan to restore by winter.

As a reminder, on the morning of August 15, the Russian army conducted missile strikes on the territory of Cherkasy Oblast. They targeted medical facilities and a private enterprise in Smila. Water and heating supply networks were also damaged, leaving a part of Smila without water.
