A man died in an accident in Poltava region

On May 4th, at around 8:30 AM, a fatal road accident occurred in the Poltava region on the 'Kyiv – Kharkiv – Dovzhansky' highway, near the town of Reshetilivka in the Poltava district. This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in the Poltava region.

Preliminary investigation has determined that a 33-year-old driver of a 'Toyota RAV4' sedan collided with a 'KRAZ' truck while it was parked on the roadside.

As a result of the accident, the driver of the sedan sustained severe injuries but, unfortunately, he passed away in the ambulance. The deceased was identified as a resident of Poltava city.

Law enforcement authorities plan to initiate a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article sanctions imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.

Currently, law enforcement officers are investigating all the circumstances of the road accident.

In other news, gas supply will be disconnected at the Memorial Complex of Military Glory in Poltava. Over the year, the complex consumed gas worth more than 500,000 hryvnias. The city administration has decided to allocate these funds to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The eternal flame will be replaced with a lighting installation.
