Man stole almost a million on purchase of military uniforms for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The police in Dnipro Region reported that the director of one company in Kirovohrad was served with a suspicion notice for profiting from the supply of military uniforms. The information was provided by the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipro Region.

The 26-year-old director of the company failed to fulfill the terms of a contract in their entirety and misappropriated 840,000 hryvnias.

It was found that officials from one of the business entities had entered into a contract with the executive body of Kryvyi Rih City Council for the production and supply of military uniforms for Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel. The City Council made an advance payment of 9 million hryvnias to the supplier. However, the director of the company did not fulfill the order in full and transferred part of the received funds to their own bank accounts.

On May 12, based on court decisions, law enforcement officers conducted authorized searches at the residences of the company's leadership and directly at the business premises. Winter and summer uniform sets, documents, bank cards, and mobile phones were found.

The individual in question was served with a suspicion notice under Article 191, Part 5 (misappropriation, embezzlement, or seizure of property through abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
