Gennadiy Trukhanov taken into custody

The Mayor of Odessa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, has been taken into custody in the case related to the "Krayan" factory. This information was reported by journalist Oleg Novikov in his Telegram channel.

The alternative to custody is a bail of 13 million hryvnias. The panel of judges of the Higher Anti-Corruption Court has granted the prosecutor's request from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to change the preventive measure for Trukhanov.

The mayor did not deposit the court-determined bail of 30,866,000 hryvnias, so the prosecutor applied to the court to change the preventive measure from bail to detention with the alternative of posting bail.

Gennadiy Trukhanov has been subjected to a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 60 days with an alternative bail of 13,420,000 hryvnias. He was also taken into custody at the court premises.

Earlier, the Higher Anti-Corruption Court changed the preventive measure for the Mayor of Odessa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, from personal recognizance to bail in the amount of 30,866,000 hryvnias in a case related to the embezzlement of 92 million hryvnias during the purchase of buildings for the Odessa "Krayan" factory. However, Trukhanov did not post bail.

In the morning, Trukhanov's lawyers will file an appeal. The press service of the Odessa City Council has not yet reacted to Trukhanov's detention.
