On May 10th, in Vinnytsia, a memorial plaque was unveiled in honor of the fallen serviceman, Oleksandr Bozhko. It was installed on the building of School No. 11, where the defender studied. This information was reported on the Facebook page of the Vinnytsia City Council's Department of Education.

Oleksandr Bozhko was born in Vinnytsia and graduated from the Odessa Law Academy. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he joined the territorial defense of his city and served at checkpoints. In April 2022, Oleksandr volunteered and went to the east to defend our country from the Russian enemy.

"We started in Rubizhne. Then Seversk, Lysychansk, Selydove, and Bakhmut. It was very difficult. The Russians in Rubizhne attacked us. Sasha was injured. My friends and I carried him one and a half kilometers to the medical point. He was still conscious, holding my hand and saying that he wanted to live, but unfortunately, it turned out differently," said Anatoliy Stasyuk, who was Oleksandr's comrade.

Senior soldier Oleksandr Bozhko passed away on April 27, 2022, in the hospital due to shrapnel wounds received during the defense of the city of Rubizhne in the Luhansk region. He was 33 years old.

On September 30, 2022, Stanislavsky Lane in Vinnytsia was renamed to Oleksandr Bozhko Street.
