In Odessa, a man was found who used a gas canister against a stray dog. This man may be punished for animal cruelty. The incident occurred on the territory of one of the residential complexes near a children's playground on Basyeina Street. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region.

A 28-year-old man used a gas canister against a stray dog, although the dog did not pose a threat to him at the time. The police determined that the man had a phobia of street dogs.

Law enforcement officers drew up two reports against the man under the articles of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses: Part 1 of Article 89 (cruelty to animals) and Part 1 of Article 195-3 (violation of the rules for using special means of self-defense).

The maximum penalty for these violations is a fine ranging from 3,400 to 5,100 hryvnias.

According to the police, the dog did not suffer from the man's actions.
