Farewell to fallen soldier Hennadii Horshkov in Odesa region

In the city of Izmail, located in the Odessa Oblast, a farewell ceremony was held for the border guard Gennadiy Gorshkov, who tragically lost his life due to a mine explosion in the area of Bakhmut in the Donetsk Oblast. This information was reported on May 20 by the Izmail Border Guard Detachment.

Gennadiy Gorshkov had served in the Izmail Border Guard Detachment of the Marine Security before the year 2000. Afterward, he left the service and worked in private security. However, when the full-scale Russian invasion began, he rejoined the ranks of border guards and served on a cutter. In 2023, he transferred to the combat unit of the Donetsk Border Guard Detachment.

On May 12, this defender of Ukraine lost his life near Bakhmut due to injuries sustained in action. Gennadiy left behind two children, a 22-year-old daughter named Hanna and a 20-year-old son named Andriy, who continue to carry on his legacy and memory.
