As a result of the water breach following the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station by Russian occupying forces, a swift current is carrying debris, waste, various objects, boats, and even construction structures down the Dnipro River and partially into the Black Sea. This information was reported by OK "Pivden."
The water currents also tore apart the mine and explosive barriers set up by the occupiers on the left bank. Currently, a large number of mines are drifting in the water along the current.
One of these anti-landing mines was thrown onto the coast of Odesa Oblast. It was destroyed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"In the conditions of the emergency situation related to the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station, the mine danger has intensified along the banks of the Dnipro, Dnipro-Buzkyi Lagoon, and the entire Black Sea coast of Mykolaiv and Odesa regions," as reported by the military.
Local authorities are asking residents of the region and visitors to refrain from walking along the coastline and beaches.
"All services are working to eliminate the consequences of another crime by the Russian Federation. The situation in Odesa Oblast is under complete control," stated Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
To recap, on June 6th, Russian forces detonated the structures of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station in Kherson Oblast.
