Law enforcement officers from the Odessa region have provided a watercraft to their colleagues in the Kherson region. This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in the Odessa region. The need for a watercraft was identified by police in Kherson who serve in the Ship Department, some of whom are originally from the Odessa region.
The police in Kherson required a maneuverable and lightweight floating vehicle with shallow draft, making it easier to reach places that would be challenging for larger boats. The hydrocycle will facilitate more efficient evacuation of residents from flooded areas in Kherson. Additionally, this new watercraft allows for patrolling flooded streets and setting up observation posts. If necessary, the hydrocycle can also tow a boat with people.
Pavlo Bobchytskyi, the Chief of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Police Department, reported that with the help of law enforcement officers from Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Sarativ, Tatarbunary, as well as local businesses, they were able to acquire the hydrocycle. People immediately started searching for the required watercraft, organized fundraising, and successfully purchased the watercraft within two days.
The hydrocycle was handed over to the law enforcement officers from the Ship Department of the Kherson Police, whose personnel are currently engaged in rescue operations.
