In the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, posthumous honors were bestowed upon the fallen soldier Georgiy Strelkov from Vinnytsia. The head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Borzov, along with Major General of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and head of the South Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Serhiy Mul, and the commander of the Mohyliv-Podilsky Border Guard Unit, Oleg Kovalchuk, presented the Order of "For Courage" of the 3rd degree to Major Georgiy Strelkov and his son Mykola, a student at Vinnytsia Polytechnic Institute.
The order and the posthumous promotion to the rank of Major were awarded for bravery and selfless actions demonstrated during the performance of official duties to protect the state border, as stated in the President's decree.
In June 2022, Georgiy Strelkov, as the head of the group of precinct inspectors of the border service "Yampil," led the engineering fortification of the unit's position in the area near the settlement of Semenivka in Chernihiv region. This action helped preserve the lives and health of the personnel of the composite unit.
Georgiy also assisted in the fortification of structures on the Donetsk front, near Volnovakha, and in the village of Nevelske in Pokrovsk district.
The head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration stated that Georgiy Strelkov's family would not be left without support. A memorial plaque has been installed in the border unit where he served.
