The government has allocated over 30 million hryvnias for the construction of shelters in general education institutions in Vinnytsia region. The respective decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in Resolution No. 419 dated April 28th.

"A safe educational environment is our top priority, and in times of martial law, there can be no compromise on this matter. That's why the state is making every effort to ensure that children can study in safety," emphasized Sergiy Borzov, Head of Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration.

The regional leader noted that last year, more than 600 shelters were prepared in Vinnytsia region to organize a successful educational process by September 1st. This allowed the resumption of offline learning and provided students and their parents with the choice of how to study.

He also added that 85% of educational institutions in Vinnytsia are operating offline or in a hybrid format, which is one of the best indicators in Ukraine.

It's worth mentioning that shelters are planned to be built for four high schools in Vinnytsia, namely No. 12, 13, 23, and 30. Currently, the city is beginning the development of project and cost estimate documentation.

According to the Facebook page of the city mayor, Serhiy Morgunov, out of 44 high schools in the Vinnytsia community, 14 currently do not have their own shelters.

Overall, during the academic year, 24 shelters in high schools were capital-repaired at the expense of the city budget, and another four institutions underwent current repairs.
