In the Poltava region, the 9th river girl sunk into the bet

In Poltava region, the police are investigating the circumstances of the death of a 9-year-old girl in a water reservoir. This information was reported by the press service of the Poltava Regional Police Department.

A report about an emergency situation in the village of Sliporid-Ivanivka within the Grebinky territorial community was received by the police sector #1 of the Lubny District Police Department (city of Grebinky) on June 20, at approximately 15:45.

According to preliminary information, the girl was playing near a local pond with other children. The child entered the water, submerged, but did not resurface.

Unfortunately, the girl could not be saved, and her body has been sent for a forensic examination to determine the cause of death.

The police have initiated an investigation into the case under the relevant articles of the Ukrainian Criminal Code. They are currently working to determine all the circumstances of the tragedy.

This is the second similar incident in the area in recent days. On June 16, a child's body was discovered near the Vorskla River in Bilyky, Poltava region, after several children were swept away by the river's current while swimming.
