Recently, as part of the work of the Interregional Coordinating Humanitarian Headquarters, another humanitarian shipment was sent from Vinnytsia to Balakliia. This shipment included 500 sheets of OSB (Oriented Strand Board).
The head of the Vinnytsia community, Serhiy Morgunov, shared this information on his Facebook and Telegram channels.
"In recent days, we collected and delivered 500 OSB sheets to the liberated city. They will be needed for the temporary repair of damaged buildings. Unfortunately, there are many such buildings in Balakliia because the city is still under enemy shelling," wrote Serhiy Morgunov.
The community leader thanked everyone who contributed to assisting the sister city and noted that Vinnytsia has been actively supporting Balakliia since October of the previous year.
The coordinator of the Interregional Coordinating Humanitarian Headquarters and a deputy of the Vinnytsia City Council, Taras Prysiazhniuk, mentioned that Vinnytsia will continue to monitor the situation, assess needs, and provide assistance to the best of their abilities.
"As part of this shipment, we are sending OSB sheets to be used for the temporary repair of premises damaged by the invaders. This material should be enough to cover over a thousand damaged windows," stated Taras Prysiazhniuk.
It's worth noting that Vinnytsia became a sister city to Balakliia in October of the previous year. Since then, multiple humanitarian shipments have been sent to the city, including clothing, generators, buses, and more. On November 25, at a session of the city council, lawmakers approved the allocation of 10 million hryvnias for restoration projects. With these funds, residential buildings in Balakliia that suffered damage due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation will be renovated.
