The contractor for the repair of a kindergarten in Poltava caused losses of two million hryvnias

The director of a private enterprise in Poltava has been informed of suspicion regarding official negligence that caused serious consequences (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

In August 2022, the Capital Construction Department of the Poltava City Executive Committee and a private enterprise from the Poltava district entered into a contract for the major repair of the roof of one of the preschool educational institutions in Poltava.

According to the terms of the contract, the enterprise undertook to qualitatively repair the roof with budget funds, but later failed to adhere to project documentation, construction standards, work schedules, and so on.

As a result, after the partial dismantling of the roof due to atmospheric precipitation, the premises housing internally displaced (evacuated) persons were damaged.

According to the findings of a construction and technical expertise, the cost of repair and restoration works (the amount of material damage caused to the Poltava territorial community) amounts to nearly 2 million UAH.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal case is ongoing.

Investigative actions are being carried out by the Police Department #1 of the Poltava District Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine in Poltava Region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
