The police are investigating the circumstances of a car accident that occurred on May 14th at around 17:45 near the village of Olenivka in the Voronovychi territorial community of Vinnytsia region. As a result of the collision, the driver of the Ford car and four of its passengers sustained injuries. Among the injured are children aged 11 and 16, according to the police in Vinnytsia region.

According to preliminary information from the investigation, the 48-year-old driver of the Ford car, a resident of Vinnytsia, did not maintain a safe speed and allowed the vehicle to veer into a ditch, resulting in it overturning.

"As a result of the accident with injuries, the driver of the car and his passengers, residents of Vinnytsia region, including two children aged 11 and 16, as well as a 39-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, were hospitalized," the report stated.

The vehicle has been impounded, and a blood test was conducted on the driver to check for alcohol intoxication. The Investigative Department of the police has initiated a criminal investigation under Article 286, Part 1, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road safety or operation rules by persons driving vehicles), which carries a penalty of up to 3 years of imprisonment with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same period for such an offense.
