A Day of Psychological Relief and Hippotherapy was organized for 40 children from the families of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Vinnytsia. The children had the opportunity to ride horses, feed animals in a petting zoo, and make their own keychains.
The social project was initiated by the International Organization for Migration in Vinnytsia. Vitaliy Byelov, a mental health professional from the organization, explained that the aim of such activities is to provide children and adults with a chance to spend time together constructively.
"This is a family project. Here, you can ride, undergo psychological training, and spend time together. We aim to strengthen bonds within families and create a support network," says Vitaliy Byelov.
A total of 40 children from Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions participated in the social project. Riding the horses was guided by instructor Anastasiya Smirnova. According to her, hippotherapy helps people cope with stressful situations more easily and provides emotional relief.
"Horses are sensitive to emotions, and they form attachments to people. Horses share a part of their emotions and love. It's very helpful for relaxation," says Anastasiya Smirnova.
Additionally, there is a mini petting zoo on the club's premises, featuring ponies, goats, doves, a donkey, a raccoon, and a fox. At the end of the event, children were offered a masterclass in making keychains.
