While in custody on charges of committing robbery, a 37-year-old criminal managed to sell five grenades and over a thousand rounds of ammunition for firearms. He also deceived 16 residents of Odessa into paying for fictitious portable chargers. This information was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region.

The police learned that the offender had found a buyer for four "RGD-5" grenades, one "F-1" grenade, and 1196 rounds of various calibers, which were hidden in a wooded area near Odessa. He received four thousand hryvnias for them and provided the coordinates of the stash.

Sappers examined the dangerous items, which were subsequently sent for expert analysis. The findings revealed that the grenades were explosive military munitions, and the rounds were intended for combat rifles and shotguns.

The police also discovered that the man was involved in fraud. He posted an advertisement on a popular online platform selling portable chargers at a reduced price and guaranteed their delivery after receiving a prepayment ranging from 400 to 500 hryvnias. However, once the man received money from people, he would stop communicating with them.

As a result of these schemes, the criminal deceived sixteen citizens, receiving nearly eight thousand hryvnias from them.

Law enforcement officers conducted searches at the location of the suspect and seized his mobile phone, which he used to commit the offenses.

The man has been charged with the acquisition and sale of combat munitions without the required legal permits, as well as misappropriation of another person's property by deception, i.e., fraud, committed repeatedly.

The maximum penalty facing the offender is seven years of imprisonment.
