A new fire station was opened in a village in Cherkasy region

A fire station for the local fire protection service has been inaugurated in Verguny, located in the Cherkasy region. This initiative aims to provide timely assistance to the residents of the Chervonoslobidska community.

The residents of Verguny gathered to witness the opening of the new fire station and its equipment.

Local resident Svitlana Levchenko expressed her gratitude, emphasizing the significance of such a development for the community's safety. She said, "Of course, it means a lot. It signifies the development of our locality, which is very positive. Even if it's a small unit, we hope that there won't be any fires."

The establishment of this fire station will enable quicker response to emergencies and firefighting, according to Volodymyr Vitrak, the chief of the local fire protection service. Previously, the local firefighters had only one vehicle, which was often challenging to use during certain weather conditions or when water was unavailable. Now, they can operate effectively around the clock.

The fire station was set up in the premises of an abandoned boiler room, shared Alexander Lytvynenko, the head of the Chervonoslobidska community. Approximately 1.1 million UAH was invested in the facility's extensive renovation to make it operational in both winter and summer.

With this addition, the local fire protection service now has three vehicles in its arsenal. The third vehicle was provided to the new station by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the region, as informed by Yulia Norovkova, the spokeswoman for the regional office of the State Emergency Service.

Ihor Taburtsia, the head of the regional military administration, mentioned that this practice of enhancing local fire protection units would expand throughout the region. This strategic vision for the development of emergency services in the country involves the existence of both regular and volunteer units to deal with various situations, especially in the event of any emergencies.

With this reinforcement, local units will be better equipped to respond promptly to a wide range of incidents and provide essential services to the community.
