The Russian Federation's army has recently intensified rocket and drone attacks on the Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa regions. The occupiers believe that these regions may contain resources or assets related to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the United Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, revealed this during a telethon.
Humeniuk emphasizes that according to classic military understanding, the Russians are targeting the rear areas with painful strikes.
"If we look at the front line, especially in the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy realizes that it's quite evident that Dnipropetrovsk can be a location for additional forces and reserves for an attack in the conflict zone. If we look at Kherson, in anticipation of our forces advancing in this direction, the enemy realizes that Mykolaiv and Odessa regions are resource-rich areas that can strengthen the forces in this direction," she explained.
According to Humeniuk, the situation is becoming more tense because the occupiers are feeling the pressure from the Ukrainian Defense Forces. She believes that the enemy is looking for ways to weaken the defense forces on the fronts where they think it's possible.
