Odesa exposes dealers selling fake perfumes with names of global brands

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office, an organizer and ten members of a criminal group have been exposed and informed of suspicion in connection with the illegal use of trademarks for goods and services and money laundering, proceeds obtained through criminal activities. This information was reported by the press service of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, the suspects established illegal mass production of perfumes on the region's territory, branding them with the names of well-known world brands and the associated packaging materials.

For clandestine production, the organizer rented and equipped several premises in Odessa. Each member of the group had a specific role in the production, storage, and sale of counterfeit perfumes.

The counterfeit perfumes were sold in Odessa and other regions of Ukraine through a specially created Telegram channel and a courier delivery service. Wholesale and retail sales of the perfumes were also conducted from retail outlets at the "7th Kilometer" industrial market. During searches, more than 50,000 bottles with a total volume of 2,000 liters, as well as boxes of finished counterfeit perfumes, manufacturing equipment, packaging materials with logos of famous brands, with a total value of over 69 million hryvnias, were seized.

Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspects is being resolved.
