The religious community of the village of Talianky in Zvenyhorodka district, Cherkasy region, has adopted a decision to switch from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This transition was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Talianky, Yuriy Svidersky.

Svidersky stated, "The religious community of the village of Talianky held a meeting, and with an overwhelming majority of votes, they decided to join the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The meeting was conducted very professionally, taking into account all legal nuances. Father Ivan Yavodchak, who had conducted worship services in the Church of the Intercession for 17 years, was not present at the meeting."

According to him, the majority of churches in the Talianky community have already transitioned to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Only six churches remain under the Moscow Patriarchate, including two in Talianky and one each in the villages of Legedzine, Vyshnopil, Lisove, and Kobrynova Hreblia.

The Church of the Intercession in Talianky is considered one of the three oldest churches in the Talianky community, built in 1908.

It's worth noting that recently, parishioners of the Holy Presentation parish of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Cherkasy region attacked video operator Maxim Tkachenko from a local publication called "18000." The journalist suffered injuries to his fingers and damage to his equipment. Law enforcement initiated a criminal investigation into obstructing journalistic activities.
