In Poltava Oblast, a lion bit a man, the latter is in intensive care

A lion attacked a man in a private zoo in Poltava on June 29th, and the victim is currently in the intensive care unit. According to Svitlana Pasyuta, the acting head of the intensive care unit at the first city hospital in Poltava, the 26-year-old victim was brought to the hospital at around 4:00 PM on June 29th. His condition is stable, closer to a moderate level of severity. He suffered a laceration on his right forearm.

The incident occurred on the premises of a hotel and entertainment complex in the village of Kotelva. Vasil Zub, the spokesperson for the Poltava Regional Police Department, reported that a local 26-year-old resident was injured and taken to a medical facility by ambulance. The police are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident, but no criminal case has been initiated at this time. The zoo or the hotel complex has not provided any comments regarding the incident.
