In Odessa, part of the building of the former Maternity Hospital No. 6 near Shevchenko Park, which is an architectural monument - a two-story mansion owned by Gavsevich, has been partially dismantled. This information was reported by the head of the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control of the Odessa City Council, Alexander Avdeyev.

According to his information, the repair work on the building was carried out with deviations from the approved architectural documentation: part of the fencing and supporting structures of the monument was dismantled, as well as the roof and the ceilings of the second and third floors in the eastern part of the building.

Alexander Avdeyev noted that a letter has been sent to the Prosecutor's Office of the Odessa region because, in his opinion, the situation may be in violation of Article 298, Part 2 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code. Additionally, a follow-up letter has been sent to the State Inspection of Architecture and Urban Planning of Ukraine to investigate the legality of the dismantling of the structures on the historical building.

According to the head of the Department of State Architectural and Construction Control, the non-residential building with an area of 1168.4 square meters is currently owned by "Universal Direct" LLC. In January of this year, part of the building's structures collapsed. Notably, the mansion in Shevchenko Park was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century as the private residence of a wealthy Odessa resident. It is now a local architectural landmark.

The building of the former maternity hospital has sustained damage to its interior walls, and its roof has been partially destroyed. In the early 2000s, the maternity hospital was closed, and the building was supposed to undergo renovation in 2021. It was surrounded by a fence, but the reconstruction did not take place.

The Odessa City Council did not comment on the repairs, citing the fact that the building is privately owned.
