On July 2, President Volodymyr Zelensky made an official visit to Odessa, where he held a meeting with the Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Oleksiy Neizhpapa.
During the meeting, a number of important issues related to the security of the Black Sea and the strategy for the development of the Ukrainian Navy during and after the armed conflicts were discussed.
One of the key aspects of the discussion was the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian Navy. Zelensky expressed admiration for the skill and courage of Ukrainian military personnel who have transformed the Black Sea into a domain of their strength, thereby demonstrating their unwavering commitment to defending national interests.
An important direction of the Ukrainian Navy's development is the maritime drone program and the missile program. The President expressed satisfaction with the interim results of these programs and hoped for their continued success.
The meeting concluded with President Zelensky extending his greetings to the naval personnel on their professional holiday, expressing gratitude for their tireless work and dedication to defending Ukraine. He stated, "The enemy will not dictate terms in the Black Sea, and occupiers will have to fear approaching our Ukrainian Crimea and the shores of the Sea of Azov, just as Russian ships already fear approaching our Black Sea coastline." The President also emphasized that the trust in the Ukrainian Navy has shattered all of the enemy's hopes of conquering the Black Sea, and he recognized the significant contribution of Ukrainian soldiers to ensuring the country's security.
