On May 31st, the Chief of the National Police of Vinnytsia region, Ivan Ishchenko, and the head of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, Serhiy Borzov, visited the Kalynivskyi District Police Department - the tenth unit in Vinnytsia, where they have implemented "Custody Records," an automated system for keeping records of actions with detained individuals. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration.
While at the district department, Serhiy Borzov noted that Vinnytsia is a leader among the regions in the implementation of "Custody Records." He emphasized that respecting people's rights has always been a top priority for law enforcement in the Vinnytsia region, aligning with European standards.
Additionally, the Kalynivskyi District Police Department adheres to inclusivity norms, even providing facilities for holding individuals in custody. They maintain spaces for confidential meetings with defense attorneys, rooms for detained persons and conducting investigative procedures, and areas for receiving citizens and establishing the circumstances. Thanks to the implementation of the "Custody Records" system, video surveillance is also conducted in the department. This ensures that detained individuals receive proper legal assistance, minimizes the possibility of conflict situations, and protects law enforcement officers from unjust accusations. It is planned to introduce such a system in several more units in the Vinnytsia region soon.
