In Cherkasy, the consecration of the Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker temple took place. The temple was consecrated by the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius. Representatives of the city and regional authorities were also present at the event, including the head of the Poltava Regional Council, Anatoliy Pidhornyi.

During his speech, Anatoliy Pidhornyi noted that the new temple would be a place where the people of Cherkasy could find strength, understanding, and support in overcoming life's challenges. He emphasized that faith in God and the courage of Ukraine's defenders support Ukrainians in difficult times: "In such a difficult time, when we lose our relatives and loved ones, when a terrible danger threatens them every day, faith becomes a powerful salvation. Faith in God, in the strength and endurance of our defenders!"

The consecration of the temple took place on the day of honoring the memory of St. Luke. According to Anatoliy Pidhornyi, St. Luke was an example of not renouncing faith and purpose despite persecution, torture, and exile. He strived to save people and give them hope for life.

Metropolitan Epiphanius awarded the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, volunteers, and government representatives after the consecration of the Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker temple. He also expressed gratitude to the deputies of the Cherkasy Regional Council.

It's worth mentioning that the consecration of the temple coincided with the commemoration of St. Luke. The event took place at a time when the Ukrainian military and volunteers are facing significant challenges in defending the country.
