On July 8th, a storm occurred in Odessa. Due to strong winds, 24 trees and large branches fell in the city. Currently, all locations have been cleared by specialists from the municipal enterprise "CityGreenRest." This was reported by the Odessa City Council.
The city authorities in Odessa also inform that windy weather is expected today, according to meteorologists. The Hydrometeorological Center forecasts that gusts of northern winds may reach 15-20 m/s.
The city government urges residents to be vigilant, limit their movements and trips as much as possible, especially for the elderly, children, and pregnant women.
They also request not to leave vehicles under trees and power lines, and to move carefully under trees since the gusty winds may cause branches and cables to fall.
Furthermore, the storm with wind and thunderstorms also affected the Poltava region.
According to the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, after a night of thunderstorms on July 9, 42 settlements in the region were left without electricity.
At that time, the following communities had no power: Hadyach, Zinkiv, Kotelyanka, Dykanka, Kobelyaky, Kremenchuk, and Poltava. As of 13:08, repair teams managed to restore power to 18 settlements in the Poltava region, with work still ongoing in 24 others.
Power has been restored in the Kobelyaky community, while work continues in all other areas.
