From July 6th to 9th, the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup took place in Warsaw, Poland. Artem Manko from Cherkasy region won two medals at this competition. The Cherkasy Regional State Administration has reported this achievement.



225 athletes from different countries participated in the World Cup. Artem Manko performed well as part of the Ukrainian national team. He won a bronze medal in the individual event for men in the discipline of Category A Sabre. In the team competition, our athlete also secured the third place with his teammates.

Earlier, we reported that Maxim Dmitryash and Vadim Maznichenko from Cherkasy were heading to training camp for participants of the Invictus Games. They suffered injuries while defending Ukraine from Russian invaders but did not give up and continued their sports careers. Our participants successfully passed the selection process for the Invictus Games, which involved more than 200 military personnel and veterans from different regions of the country. They had to compete in nine sports disciplines, including athletics, rowing, shooting, cycling, table tennis, sitting volleyball, powerlifting, swimming, and wheelchair basketball.

We also reported that Anatoliy Novopisminnyi, a powerlifter from Poltava region, became the overall world champion. At the World Championship held in Malta, our athlete set two world records and became the world champion in classic powerlifting. This victory marked Anatoliy Novopisminnyi's third title on the world stage.
