In Cherkasy, there is a proposal to install digital memorials in memory of the fallen defenders in the Russian-Ukrainian war. This information was reported by the Cherkasy City Council.
The plan is to gather information about the fallen soldiers from their relatives and comrades-in-arms. The developers then create mini-films and place them on the platform of the Ukrainian service "Bank of Memories". The stories of the fallen heroes can be accessed by scanning the QR codes on the memorial plaques.
Volunteers from the public organization "Spohady Ukrainy" (Memories of Ukraine) are working together with "Bank of Memories" to create these digital memorials.
Andrii Melanchyk, the initiator of the project, stated that the essence of this project is to preserve fresh memories of our Heroes. Their team aims to create not just nameplates but content that will tell future generations about Ukrainian defenders, evoke vivid emotions, and provide an understanding that behind each name is a person with their own character, ambitions, and a person who had a rich life that was abruptly cut short. This is a modern and interactive way of honoring the memory of the heroes.
It was the first meeting of experts with the families of the fallen soldiers. Another meeting is planned to be held in a broader circle involving more families and experts.
