The Palanka community has won a court case against the Russian Federation for damaging a local school in the Uman region. According to the ruling, the occupying country is obligated to pay compensation of 156 million hryvnias. This was reported on the community's page. It is worth noting that the population of the community is only 7,000 people.

The Economic Court of Cherkasy Oblast fully satisfied the lawsuit filed by the Palanka village council and ordered the Russian Federation to pay 156,159,512.83 hryvnias in damages caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The plaintiff complained that the local high school was damaged during the shelling.

"As a result of the actions of the political leadership and representatives of the military command of the Russian Federation, the military unit was bombed, which led to the scattering and detonation of artillery ammunition and damage to the infrastructure of the Palanka village, including the explosive wave and direct impact of the shell, resulting in destruction and damage to the property of the Palanka village council," the ruling states.

Recall that on February 24, 2022, in the morning, part of the facade of the local school in the village of Palanka, Uman region, was damaged. No one was injured as a result of the incident.

It should be noted that the Palanka community reports that it has become the only territorial community in Cherkasy Oblast that has won a lawsuit against the aggressor country.
