Religious processions and other mass events are banned in Vinnytsia region for three months

Religious processions and other mass events are prohibited in Vinnytsia region for three months. The corresponding order was issued by the head of Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, Sergiy Borzov.

The head of Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration issued an order banning marches, demonstrations, and mass public religious events outside of religious buildings in the region from July to September of the current year.

Enhanced control measures will be implemented as follows:

- From 12:00 a.m. on August 14 to 12:00 a.m. on August 16 in the territories of Vinnytsia city, Vinnytsia, Zhmerynka, Khmelnitsky, and Mohyliv-Podilskyi districts (in connection with the planned celebration of the anniversary of the 'Day of the Miracle of the Appearance of the Mother of God' and the procession from Holychentsi village to 'Yosafatova Dolyna' with subsequent religious services);

- In August 2023, for a period of three days (the day before, the day of the planned event, and the day after), during the religious procession to the Holy Assumption Pochayiv Lavra, throughout the entire territory of the region.

The prohibition, as stated in the document, is in accordance with paragraph 8 of Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine 'On the Legal Regime of Martial Law' and 'taking into account the results of the analysis of the operational situation in the field of national security and defense in the state and the region conducted by the law enforcement agencies of the region, the existence of a danger of terrorist and subversive crimes and missile strikes on civilian objects in Vinnytsia region due to the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as possible provocations and acts of vandalism aimed at fueling national and interfaith enmity and with the aim of preserving security and peace in the region, the lives and health of citizens
