The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has added 5 new items to the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ukraine:

1. Traditional Beekeeping Craft in the Svatove District of the Luhansk Region.
2. Tradition of Hutsul Artistic Woodcarving.
3. Traditional Malanka Ritual in the village of Beleluy in the Ivano-Frankivsk Region.
4. Traditional Women's Bead Jewelry in the Carpathian Region.
5. Tradition and Technology of Embroidering Women's Shirts in Hadiach.

The relevant order was signed by Alexander Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, on July 12, 2023.

Currently, local communities are required to submit preservation plans for these elements to the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. The development of these plans should involve public participation. The plan should also contain information about the transfer of knowledge about the elements of intangible cultural heritage within communities, research of the cultural space related to the element, and increasing awareness of the element among the general public.

The inclusion of the Tradition and Technology of Embroidering Women's Shirts in Hadiach in the National List of Cultural Heritage holds great significance. In the face of Russia's criminal war, aimed at destroying our national identity, traditions, history, and uniqueness, intangible cultural heritage serves as a source of our spirituality and a foundation for Ukrainian resilience.

The Tradition and Technology of Embroidering Women's Shirts in Hadiach is not only about popularizing Hadiach as a historical and cultural heritage, a tourist-attractive region with its own genetic code, but, above all, it represents a living heritage known not only in Ukraine but also beyond its borders.
