During the night of July 17, there were explosions on the Crimean Bridge, which connects Russia to the occupied Crimea. One section of the bridge was destroyed, and another section was damaged. Traffic on the bridge has been restricted, and ferry service has been halted. According to the Governor of Belgorod, two people, a man and a woman from the region, were killed on the bridge, and their daughter was injured.

The spokesperson for the South Defense and Protection Forces, Natalia Humenyuk, suggested that the explosion on the Crimean Bridge may be a Russian scenario, implemented before the continuation of the "grain deal" and in anticipation of a Ukrainian counteroffensive in the south.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) stated that all details regarding the organization of the incident on the Crimean Bridge would be revealed after the victory.

Sergei Aksyonov, the head of the occupation administration in Crimea, announced that traffic on the Crimean Bridge has been suspended due to an "extraordinary event" near the 145th support section from the Krasnodar Krai side. He called for safety and asked people to use alternative routes.

President Putin has ordered repairs on the Crimean Bridge and assistance to people stranded on their way to Crimea. He will hold a meeting regarding the situation on the Crimean Bridge in the evening.

Andriy Yusev, the spokesperson for the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, commented that the incident on the bridge has caused extensive traffic jams and damage to the bridge structure. He noted that Crimea is used by Russia as a logistics hub for moving forces and resources into Ukraine, and this incident creates logistical problems for the occupiers.

Please note that the situation is evolving, and new information may become available.
