The enemy used suicide drones and Kalibr rockets to attack Odessa and Mykolaiv on the night of 18 July

On the night of July 18, the enemy launched attacks on Odessa and Mykolaiv using suicide drones and Kalibr missiles. The strikes resulted in destruction and injuries. The information was reported by the Southern Operational Command.

"In the night, the enemy launched a treacherous attack on the southern regions of Ukraine. Several waves of suicide drones were aimed at detecting and exhausting the air defense forces. After that, six 'Kalibr' missiles were launched from the Black Sea towards Odessa," the report stated.

All the missiles were successfully intercepted by the air defense forces. Unfortunately, fragments of the downed missiles and the shockwave from the intercept caused damage to port infrastructure objects and several private residences. A senior man was injured in his own house and has been hospitalized.

The "Shahed-136" drone was destroyed before reaching land near Odessa, and four others were intercepted in the sky above Mykolaiv. In Mykolaiv, there was a direct hit on an industrial facility, resulting in a fire. However, firefighters promptly extinguished the fire, and there were no casualties.

According to Mykolaiv's mayor, Oleksandr Senkevich, there was a hit on an infrastructure object, and the situation is being addressed. The full details and results of the air defense operations will be provided by the military. The fire incident in Mykolaiv is being managed by the State Emergency Service.
