In Izmail, Odessa region, plans are underway to construct a grain terminal with a storage capacity of 20,000 tons. The initial stage will involve four warehouses, each capable of storing 5,000 tons, as revealed by Ivan Niyakiy, the commercial director of Soul Marine, in an interview with the publication "Ports of Ukraine."
The terminal will include its own laboratory, weighing equipment, and all necessary facilities for cargo handling. The required equipment has already been procured, according to Ivan.
Due to a lack of space to build its own berth, the company is unable to do so and intends to work through other port operators. This will enable them to load vessels at various berths in Izmail.
"In addition, we want to have our own site for receiving and unloading railway wagons. Izmail faces significant challenges in this regard, as the port is not equipped for such cargo flows. We are working in this direction," emphasized Ivan Niyakiy.
Preparatory work for the construction of the terminal has already been completed, a contract has been signed with the general contractor, and an advance payment has been made. Recently, the necessary equipment arrived, and the first phase, with a capacity of 10,000 tons, is expected to be ready by the end of August, while the second phase will be completed by mid-September. Thus, cargo acceptance will commence in the near future, as Ivan mentioned.
