From July 15 to 16, the Ukrainian Billiards Championship took place in Khmelnytskyi, where representatives from Kirovohrad region performed exceptionally well, bringing home five medals of different ranks. This was reported by the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration.
The championship had 43 athletes from 13 regions of Ukraine participating. Eight athletes from Kropyvnytskyi's Youth Sports School No. 4 represented Kirovohrad region in the competition. Five of them returned with medals: Daria Dyachenko and Matviy Sulzhenko won "silver," while Daria Kovalova, Zakhar Zavhorodniy, and Mykola Lipko achieved "bronze." The athletes were trained by coach and instructor Oleksandr Sinyakevych.
Earlier, we reported that a sportswoman from Cherkasy region won the World Cup in shooting, which was held in Croatia. Anastasiia Telizhenko, representing Ukraine in the competition, participated in the team event. On July 11, during the R5 exercise, she, along with Vitaliy Plaushch and Vasyl Kovalchuk, secured first place and won the gold medal at the World Cup.
Previously, Poltava boxer Oleksandr Khizhniak won at the European Games and secured a spot in the 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris. At the previous Olympics, Oleksandr competed in the 75-kilogram category and won a "silver" medal. In the upcoming Olympics, he will be competing in the 80-kilogram category, aiming to win the "gold" medal
