In Odessa, on the eve of Border Guard Day, the memory of the soldiers who gave their lives in the struggle for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity was honored. It is known that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation into Ukraine, 68 border guards from the Southern Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine have lost their lives. In their honor, a monument called the 'Wall of Heroes' was unveiled in Odessa. This information was reported by the Odessa Regional Military Administration.



The fallen soldiers were commemorated with a moment of silence, and those present joined in a collective prayer. Boris Voloshenkov, Acting Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration, spoke about the heroic deeds of the border guards who remained faithful to their duty and to Ukraine until their last breath.

"This Memorial symbolizes the unyieldingness and resilience of the guardians of the border who gave their lives defending the territorial integrity and state sovereignty of our country. We are all forever indebted to the mothers and fathers for raising brave and patriotic children. And we bow before the children who have lost their parents," said Boris Voloshenkov in his speech.

Additionally, the regional leader expressed gratitude to the Odessa border guards who continue to protect Ukraine's borders. Boris Voloshenkov presented them with valuable gifts and Honorary Certificates from the Regional Military Administration.
