In Poltava region, a large amount of pollutants was discharged into a sewage treatment plant

In Poltava Oblast, unknown individuals discharged pollutants into the Suprunivske wastewater treatment facilities. This was reported by the press service of Poltava Water Utility. According to some indicators, the pollution exceeds the permissible concentration of pollutants by eight times.

Experts from the water supply company are investigating the water, which appears to be pink. They have also found that this discharge of contaminated substances has caused significant harm. In all facilities where the water was biologically treated from sewage, the bacteria in the active sludge have died off.

Authorities are currently identifying those responsible for this violation. Additionally, the water utility employees managed to prevent a technological catastrophe by isolating the contaminated wastewater. They took this action to protect the environment from extensive pollution.
