For the first time in its history, the National Sorochyntsi Fair will take place in Lviv. This was announced by the organizers, Sorochyntsi Fair LLC, represented by the project manager, Svitlana Svyshcheva.
With the support of the Lviv Regional State Administration and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Poltava Regional State Administration, the presentation of the National Sorochyntsi Fair will be held in Lviv from August 24th to 27th, 2023. It is dedicated to Ukraine's Independence Day and is themed "East and West Together." The event will feature traditional crafts, products from Ukrainian companies, items from craft producers, Ukrainian cuisine, a rich cultural and artistic program, giveaways, and the All-Ukrainian Festival of Folk Art "Yarmarinka."
The fair will be located at: 17 Kopernika Street, Lviv, Palace of Arts. The working hours will be from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
It's worth noting that due to safety concerns for participants and visitors, the fair will not be held in Poltava Region this year, and the decision was not supported by the Poltava Regional State Administration. The position of the Poltava Regional State Administration was expressed in their letter dated May 26, 2023, No. 47.
In the letter from the Velykosorochynska Village Council dated June 20, 2023, No. 967/01.1-21, it is proposed to refrain from holding the event in August this year due to the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
In previous years, the Sorochyntsi Fair faced cancellations due to various reasons, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the outbreak of full-scale war. However, the fair has been held in different locations, including Odessa in 2019.
