Ten powerful Ford pickups have been sent from Dnipro to Donetsk Oblast and will be used in combat missions by the assault units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This information was reported on the official page of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration (RSA).
The handover of the vehicles took place near the Dnipro RSA building. The ten American Ford trucks with 6-liter engines have already departed to the hottest frontlines in the vicinity of Bakhmut.
During the handover of the vehicles, the head of the Dnipro RSA, Serhiy Lysak, mentioned that these vehicles were purchased by the founder of several Ukrainian retail chains. He emphasized that this Dnipro-born businessman has already delivered over two hundred vehicles to the frontlines since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Serhiy Lysak stressed that with this kind of support from Ukrainian businesses, it will be possible to hold the Fortress of Bakhmut.
The vehicles were purchased at an auction in the United States and were given a complete technical inspection upon arrival in Ukraine, in Lviv. The vehicles had their oil, filters, and batteries replaced, their tires renewed, and their bodies reinforced. They are now capable of carrying loads of up to 2.5 tons.
The keys to the vehicles were handed over to the soldiers of the assault units defending Bakhmut.
