"The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has chosen a preventive measure for the former head of the Odessa Regional Recruitment and Social Support Center, Yevhen Borisov, which includes two months of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 150 million hryvnias.

As it is known, on July 24th, the employees of the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR), in collaboration with prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General (OGP), arrested the former head of the Odessa Regional Recruitment and Social Support Center, Yevhen Borisov.

Borisov is suspected of:
1. Acquiring assets, the value of which exceeds the lawful income of a person authorized to perform state functions, by more than six thousand five hundred non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens.
2. Failing to report for military service without valid reasons as a serviceman, committed under conditions of martial law.
3. Evading military service duties through deception, committed under conditions of martial law.

The sanctions for these offenses include imprisonment for up to 10 years.

What is known:
During the investigation, journalists from the publication "Ukrainska Pravda" revealed that the family of Yevhen Borisov had purchased real estate and cars worth millions of dollars on the Spanish coast during the full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine.
After the scandal involving his property in Spain, Volodymyr Zelensky urgently instructed the Chief of the General Staff, Valeriy Zaluzhny, to immediately dismiss Yevhen Borisov from his position as the head of the Odessa Military Commissariat.
On Saturday, July 22nd, Yevhen Borisov was charged with illegal enrichment amounting to hundreds of millions of hryvnias and deliberate evasion of military service. The former official attempted to evade the investigation, using elements of concealment, such as changing phone numbers, vehicles, and his location.
The former head of the Odessa Regional Recruitment and Social Support Center, Yevhen Borisov, who is suspected of illegal enrichment and violating the military service regulations, was arrested in Kyiv on July 24th."
