On July 28th, Ukraine celebrated the Day of Ukrainian Statehood. On this occasion, Vinnytsia city hosted ceremonies during which the Ukrainian flag was raised on Castle Hill. The chief of Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Borzov, highlighted that the Ukrainian flag, with its colors representing ripe wheat and the blue sky, is a true symbol of honor, dignity, national unity, and tradition. He emphasized that Ukrainian soldiers defending the country carry this flag into battle today.

During the ceremony, the Ukrainian national flag was solemnly raised, and a moment of silence was observed to honor the Heroes of Ukraine who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.

After the flag-raising, participants laid flowers and wreaths at memorials dedicated to various historical figures who fought for Ukraine's independence throughout different times. These included monuments to Symon Petliura, Mykhailo Hrushevsky, Taras Shevchenko, the 1st Government of the Ukrainian People's Republic, Dmytro Markovych, Kostiantyn Vasylenko, Semen Yakerson, the Initial Command of the Ukrainian Galician Army, the Sich Riflemen, and members of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.

Floral arrangements were also placed near memorials to honor the Heavenly Hundred, Heroes of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO), and fallen heroes of the Joint Forces Operation (OOS).

This event was part of the nationwide celebrations marking the Day of Ukrainian Statehood.
