In Ukraine, fuel prices could rise to 60 hryvnias per liter as early as autumn. This is influenced by the gradual increase in oil prices worldwide. According to the founder of the fuel station network 'Pryam,' Dmitry Liushkin, the cost of gasoline will increase by up to two hryvnias every week over the next month.
The price hike is attributed to the reduction in crude oil production by Saudi Arabia. Currently, fuel prices have started to rise worldwide.
'With the oil barrel priced at $90 in the global market, it translates to 60 hryvnias per liter of gasoline at Ukrainian fuel stations. During August, oil will become more expensive, reaching $90. Diesel prices follow the same trend. The price on the fuel pump changes based on the average purchase prices of fuel stations' networks over the last 2-3 weeks. So, by mid-September, everything will have happened,' emphasized Dmitry Liushkin.
He also added that this scenario is still optimistic. Most likely, the cost of fuel will increase by 1-2 hryvnias every week until the end of summer.
'The forecast probability is 90%. And just as we received tax refunds, the authorities started intimidating fuel traders. It's simply a jackpot, gentlemen,' the owner of the fuel station network concluded.
