On the night of July 27th, the Russian state-terrorist forces launched a strike on the southern part of Odesa Oblast. The head of the Odesa Oblast Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, reported this information in his Telegram channel.
The attack targeted the port and industrial infrastructure of the region and resulted in fires and damage to the elevator. As of 05:30, there were no reports of casualties. The final data and results of the military response will be provided by the military command.
Later, the Odesa Oblast Military Administration released the consequences of the Russian nighttime attacks in Izmail. Significant damage was inflicted on the three-story building of the "Sea Terminal" (Morvokzal). Additionally, the elevator, grain silos, tanks at one of the cargo terminals, and various production, storage, and administrative facilities were damaged. All affected objects were civilian in nature.
Three educational institutions, one cultural institution, 15 apartments in multi-story buildings, and several private houses also suffered damage. All relevant services continue to work on-site.
Oleg Kiper expressed gratitude to the concerned residents of Izmail who participated in the cleanup efforts. Fortunately, there were no injured people. He also thanked the conscious residents of Izmail who sought shelter in safe places during the air raid.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the event, emphasizing the heroic work of the Ukrainian air defense (PPO) and their efforts to defend the country with all available forces. He mentioned the successful interception of several "Shahed" drones but noted the damage inflicted on the southern part of the country. The President highlighted the seriousness of the situation, with Russian terrorists deliberately targeting ports, grain facilities, and global food security. He called for international reaction, as such attacks on civilian ports and the destruction of essential infrastructure pose a threat not only to Ukraine but also to the whole world. Zelensky reiterated the need to stop Russia's aggressive actions.
