Public transport will stop in Vinnytsia during the municipal moment of silence

Starting from tomorrow, August 4th, in order to observe a moment of silence for all the victims of the Russo-Ukrainian war, all public transportation in Vinnytsia will come to a stop during the municipal moment of silence. This initiative is being implemented by the Department of Transport and Urban Mobility.

Andrii Sorokin, the Director of the Department of Transport and Urban Mobility, mentioned that the process of stopping public transportation will be carried out while adhering to all traffic rules.

"There is already an instruction for public transport drivers regarding the procedure for stopping public transport during the municipal moment of silence, taking into account traffic on inclines, intersections, and other locations," stated Andrii Sorokin.

The Vinnytsia City Council is also requesting residents and visitors of the city to understand and support this new initiative, as it is important to dedicate at least a minute to honor the memory of all the victims of this war.

Additionally, the city council has announced the temporary closure of a section of Academician Yangelya Street for tram track installation works. From 8:00 PM on August 4th to 8:00 PM on August 10th, traffic will be closed on a section of Academician Yangelya Street, specifically from building No. 1 to the intersection with Batozka Street. Vinnytsia residents are advised to pay attention to these changes in public transportation routes.

During the road closure period, alternative routes will be organized through Heroiv Natshvardiyi Street, Zakhysnykiv Neba Street, Zamostianska Street, Batozka Street, Honti Street, and Kyivska Street.

Road signs and traffic management devices will be installed at the site of the road closure by the staff of the Municipal Enterprise "SMED ODR."
